How do I register?
Each available service site is listed on the left. There are morning and afternoon timeslots available. When you find the site you would like to sign-up for click on the register link. Changes to registrations are not guaranteed, so make your decisions carefully. Volunteer spots are offered on a first come, first serve basis.
Can I sign-up for more than one volunteer site?
Yes. You can sign-up for one morning site and one afternoon site.
Does CSM provide transportation to volunteer sites?
No. Transportation is the responsibility of each volunteer; however during the kick-off your group leader will work with the group to coordinate carpooling to the site. There are 3 volunteer sites that are located on campus or within walking distance of campus, if you are uncomfortable with carpooling.
Lunch Details
To get lunch, you must select 'request lunch' in your registration. Some sites will have sacked lunches because they will not make it back to campus in time to have lunch. Morning sites volunteers that aren't residential students, will be offered a free lunch ticket for the dining hall. Residential students can eat in the dining hall as usual. Afternoon volunteers are welcome to eat from 11:30 AM - 12:10 PM in the dining hall.
What t-shirt sizes are available?
We offer FREE t-shirts in sizes Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and XXL.
What is a group leader?
A group leader is in charge of making sure the group gets to the volunteer site (via carpooling) and meet their site contact person. The group leader also leads the group in a reflection exercise. This is a great leadership opportunity! If you are selected to be a group leader, you will be notified one week prior to Spirit of Service Day.
